Artist's Comments

We had a snow day today and I sat in front of my husband and drew what I could in 34 min. He got tired after a bit (he was on the computer) so I didn't get to do much detail.
It was fun but not nearly complete - not much detail as you can see...I don't think I will ever return to this, but it was fun finally drawing again.

Doh, I meant to post this in Scraps but I don't see how. Can you tell I haven't uploaded stuff in DA in forever!

Wow, you really captured his likeness! You're so good at portraiture! Yeah, it looks just like him!

Dude, I wish I could draw someone in 34 minutes and have it look that good. And, from the pictures I've seen, it looks just like him! Wow!

Ah, thanks :)
Mandy showed me these books you can download on [link]
In the 'extras' section there are some Andrew Loomis books. Since we have another snow/ice day today I figured I'd download one and try it out, they are kind of fun. Right now I am doing the "Fun with Pencil" book. I am stopping myself from just zooming to the end to draw the pretty stuff. I never learned the basics and I need too!

:) Thanks for the Fav! Yesterday was another snow day so I started on "Fun with Pencil" from the Andrew Loomis books you showed me. I am resisting the urge to just fast forward to the back and draw those. I am being good and starting with the circles and lines. It's forcing me to be patient and to not jump into a drawing. :) I'm on page 27...that's 95 more pages to go!
