Commenting Commission

Wed Jan 12, 2005, 8:42 AM
I haven't posted a DA in forever, if I do, it usually goes into scraps since I never really finish.
I guess what I'm saying is, I'm going to look once in a while because I get really inspired by everyone's art but I won't really comment anymore. I don't feel comfortable giving a critique even when asked for (I stopped a while ago but I just figured I'd say it out loud here) and just saying 'great pic' really doesn't do much for the artist. Also, usually critiquers have some sort of big gallery to support why they have the eye for it...mine is small and gives me no right to suggest changes on someones hard work. Plus everyone on my favorites list has so many watchers who comment. So if anyone doesn't like lurkers, just let me know and I can take you off my watch list or something.
I wish I drew and painted more often, but it comes in spurts and sometimes I can force myself but then it just feels so...well, forced. Not fun. Then there is grad school to deal with, which is about to start again. Perhaps if my schedule was different then I would be more likely to draw, but full time work and full time school pretty much puts me out of commission for a while. That's when some art seems forced. I draw more often than it seems but it's nothing worth sharing or bothering to post. I tend to draw what I see which often means boring faces and not much imagination. I think that's why the work by many artists here inspires me so much, because I wonder, 'how did they come up with that!?'
Anyway, to wrap up this post...
I guess, if anyone is reading this...and has read this far, I will draw something for you. Do a commission or kiriban or whatever it's called. Just be the first to comment. Perhaps then it will start my fire up again before school starts.
Thanks for reading,
Gina

Frida Kahlo call for artists on Art.com

Wow, there is a call for artists on Art.com

Neato. They want to create a virtual exhibition with all the entries.

Also, I found this, it's so short (I wish it was longer):

It moves me so much.

Caught up

Fri Oct 15, 2004, 6:45 AM
I finally caught up with all my devs. I had over 100! I tried to comment on as many as I could. Everyone is really busy at drawing and CGing, thanks for that. It took me a few days but I saw so much cool stuff.
I need to learn more emoticon thingies...the obligatory :) is boring.

Hey look here is a batman! :batman:
I bet likes that one :)

I've been wanting to paint so badly, I have one started but have not had a chance to work on it. I should take a picture of it so I can show the progress. Hopefully I can do some this weekend. It's just when I do have free time (with school it's rare) I just want to veg or decompress.
But my gallery is getting so old...I need something new.

Which reminds me, I need to :poke:

to finish his part of the GAP.

Also, if the ad up top says suicidegirls or something like that, don't go to it...eeks! Oh great, now when you see it you'll go to it because of curiosity. Well, just don't go to it at work or school!
